Gabriel Deschamps was born in 1919 and studied at Beaux Arts Academy in Paris.
From 1939 he was a State Professor and member of Paris Salon.
He was best known for his evocative landscapes depicting Provence and the South of France.
His paintings perfectly capture the colour and light of that region.
